WriteVia is a free Chrome extension that rewrites text you write in your own language (for example Roman Urdu, Hindi, Bangla, Nepali, Punjabi, Arabic, Spanish or Portuguese) or in rough English into clean, natural English, in the tone you choose.
When you click the WriteVia button, the extension sends only the text in that box - the text you asked to convert - plus a random device identifier generated on your device and your chosen language and tone settings, to the WriteVia server.
The text is passed to Google's Gemini AI service solely to produce the rewritten English text, which is returned to you. The device identifier is used only to apply the free daily conversion limit (a daily counter per device, stored in Cloudflare KV and expiring automatically). Conversions are not stored, logged for content, or reviewed by us.
We do not collect your name, email address, browsing history or the contents of pages you visit. We do not read text boxes you have not clicked the WriteVia button on. We do not sell or share data with advertisers or data brokers, and we do not use your text to train models.
The only third party that receives your submitted text is Google (Gemini API), only to perform the conversion you requested. Counters are stored on Cloudflare, which hosts the WriteVia server.
Nothing is sent until you click the WriteVia button or use the popup's Convert button. Removing the extension removes its locally stored settings and device identifier from your browser.
